About Us

To ensure a thriving community with livable wage jobs and
long-term and social viability...

This is the aim of economic development that drives our
Small Business Loan Program. KCCDC serves the business
community in Kitsap County. We do gap financing as an economic tool to create new jobs here and assist low-income individuals to better themselves and their community. We also provide technical assistance and training to establish, expand or stabilize small businesses.

Our Mission

Stimulate economic growth in Kitsap County by providing capital to small businesses for job creation.

KCCDC’s Revolving Loan Fund is to provide affordable loans to businesses located in Kitsap County that will provide employment, generate sales and personal income, and expand the County’s tax base.

Funds that are loaned to small business owners are intended to meet the following objectives:

  • Encourage the creation and retention of permanent full-time jobs
  • Encourage the leveraging of new private investment into Kitsap County.
  • Maintain a positive and pro-active business climate which encourages retention and expansion of existing businesses and help attract new businesses.
  • Encourage the development and use of new technologies.

Brief History

KCCDC opened in October, 2003 as a municipal, non-profit organization. Kitsap County Commissioners chartered our corporation in 2002. Kitsap County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and the City of Bremerton CDBG Program secured HUD grants in 2003 to fund operations and the Revolving Loan Fund. KCCDC has applied for other grants from financial institutions and the US Dept. of Agriculture.

KCCDC is starting up with one staff person and a seven-member Board of Directors.
